Wording Ideas
Did you know that the wording on all of our invitations can be changed to suit your need? So decide what you want, and just let us know.
How you word your invitation can be just as important as which invitation you choose.
First, make sure you get all the pertinent information:
- what kind of party is it
- who is the party for
- date & time
- location with address (street and city, zip codes are usually not necessary unless the party includes out-of-towners)
- what to bring if anything (registry information, bring your swim suits, etc)
- how to respond (RSVP, please respond, regrets only)
A word about RSVP: RSVP stands for "répondez, s'il vous plaît," which is French for "please reply." Which is funny, as any French person will tell you RSVP is something Western culture made up, and the French don't actually use it. However, it is a very popular way of asking people to respond to a party invitation. You can also use "Regrets Only" which means the hostess is assuming those invited will attend unless they send him/her regrets for not being able to attend. You do not need to put RSVP Regrets only. One or the other will do. You can also put "Please respond" or "Kindly respond" if you prefer to not use RSVP.
